Ian qualified to be a financial adviser in 1995 having previously worked for Barclays Bank and Nationwide Building Society. He was invited to join St. James's Place as a Partner in 2006 and has built his successful Partner Practice within St. James's Place Wealth Management since then.
Passionate about his family, Ian enjoys working with clients and their families to help protect the wealth they have built during their working lives and structuring arrangements to ensure the wealth transfers to next generations as tax efficiently as possible. This work entails retirement, investment and tax planning with an emphasis on making plans clear and easy to understand. Ian works closely with solicitors and accountants to build robust arrangements, tailored to individual needs.
Ian supports the St. James's Place Charitable Foundation and in the past has undertaken walking challenges across Dartmoor, cycling challenges in Ireland and France, climbing one of the ‘Munros’ on the Isle of Skye.
Hobbies include gardening and walking but most of his spare time is taken up helping his daughters. Rebekah with her husband own a bakery and shop in Newark and Ayesha with her husband David run a wine bar and bistro in Wirksworth. He also helps his wife Rosie to look after their grandchildren Noah, Alivia and Archie.
